The genus Nannochloropsis is widely accepted standard for reef keeping aquarists, to promote the growth and vibrancy of corals, invertebrates, and other filter feeder livestock. It can be used to increase the concentration of zooplankton in marine tanks while increasing the fatty acid (HUFA) content of the zooplankton. Additionally, it is often used in the aquaculture industry for cultivation of copepods, rotifers, artemia, and other zooplankton. This is the same product we use at Salt Creek Shrimp Company LLC to green our shrimp larval tanks and to cultivate zooplankton!
